The SsangYong Korando was a small 3-door 4x4 SUV produced from 1993 to current and designed by Briton Ken Greenley. It featured a choice of 2.3 litre and 3.2 litre gasoline engines or 2.9 litre diesel engine, all produced on license of Mercedes-Benz. The name Korando is a contraction of "Korea Can Do". A badge engineered version was sold as the Daewoo Korando from 1999 to 2001. In 2008 Russian TagAZ began to assemble Korando as TagAZ Tager.

Recent Changes[]
The Korando enter the 2011 model year all-new. Featuring a more mature, albeit derivative, design from Italdesign-Giugiaro the new Korando was unveiled in Mallorca and aimed at the UK market. Five variants of the Korando from a two-wheel drive manual to an all-wheel drive automatic will go up against names like Kuga, Qashqai and Tiguan. Power will come from a Euro 5-compliant, 173 horsepower, 2.0-liter diesel also good for 4,000 pounds of towing. There is also a five-year, 250,000-mile warranty thrown in the package.
