The Saab 9-4X will be replacing the 9-7X, in response to critisism for rebadinging of the GMT360 platform (Chevy Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Izuzu Ascender, Buick Rainier, Saab 9-7X, and the former Oldsmobile Bravada). There are rumors of it being on either the larger Lambda platform (Saturn Outlook, GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave), or the smaller Theta platform (Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent, etc.). It seems possible however, that there would be both, due to their very different sizes.
