Recent Changes[]

Mention any minor facelifts or major changes made to the vehicle here.

Styles and Major Options[]

The Intrigue, like other Oldsmobile models, comes in three distinct trims: The GX, GL and GLS. The GX is the base model. The GL is a step up, which adds available features such has leather seating. GLS is the top-of-the-line Intrigue which makes many options on the GL as standard.

All models of 1998 and many of 1999 get General Motor's legendary 3.8L 3800V6, which is well praised for it's impeccable reliabilty and generous power-delivery. The 3800 delivers 195hp. The remaining of the models from then on get a high-feature 3.6L V6 dubbed "Shortstar." This engine is based upon the 4.0L V8 in the larger Oldsmobile Aurora, which is derrived from GM's stellar Northstar used primarily in Cadillacs of even today. These engines are praised for their smooth and refined power output. The "Shortstar" delivers 215hp and 230lb/ft.

All Intrigues regardless of year are mated to a 4-speed automatic with overdrive.
