Engine and Transmission

Specifications, details, graphs, pictures and other information regarding the powertrain is placed in this section.

Performance

acceleration figure

The 2021 Nissan Versa comes equipped with a 1.6-liter Inline 4 that makes 122 hp @ 6000 rpm and 114 lb.-ft. @ 4400 rpm of torque. The car takes 9.7 seconds to reach 60 MPH from a standstill while it is able to run a quarter-mile in 17.4 seconds. All the trims are powered by the same engine, hence, there is no change in the performance figures as you go up the trims.

handling

The front-wheel-drive Nissan Versa has a comfortable ride. Its suspension smooths over minor road flaws, and its satisfying steering feedback and well-controlled body roll help it feel composed around corners.

Main Competitors

Hybrid Models

If there are hybrid versions of this vehicle manufactured, then please elaborate a little bit on it here.

Unique Attributes

If there are any features of this vehicle that sets it apart from other vehicles in its class, then mention those unique attributes here.

Interior

Seating

Both the sedan and hatchback seat up to five people on standard cloth upholstery. Upgraded cloth, a driver’s seat armrest, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel are available. Faux suede seats are available in the Note only.

The Nissan Versa has spacious seats. There’s plenty of head- and legroom for two adults in the front or back, which is a rarity in this class. While the seats are generally comfortable for short trips, they feel less so on longer trips.

The Versa sedan and Note hatchback both have two sets of lower LATCH anchors in the rear outboard seats and a third upper tether anchor in the middle seat. The lower anchors are set deep in the seats and difficult to access.

Interior Features

Standard features in every Nissan Versa include air conditioning, a rearview camera, Siri Eyes Free, a four-speaker sound system, voice controls, Bluetooth, a USB port, and a 7-inch touch screen. Available features include remote keyless entry, proximity keyless entry, push-button start, power windows and door locks, cruise control, satellite radio, and NissanConnect with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Versa has one of the shortest standard features lists in the class. Even features such as power windows and locks aren't included in the base trim, though upper trims have these items. Some advanced safety features available in competitors, like forward collision warning and lane departure warning, are absent.

On the plus side, the infotainment system is intuitive. There are redundant physical controls for audio and climate settings, and everything is well-positioned for the driver to easily see and use.

Cargo

The Nissan Versa sedan has 14.9 cubic feet of cargo room. That’s a bigger trunk than most rivals. The Versa Note hatchback has 18.8 cubic feet behind the rear seats and 38.3 cubic feet with them folded down. Those figures are average for a subcompact hatchback. The Note’s rear seats don’t fold down completely flat, leaving an uneven cargo floor.
