The Isuzu N-Series are a range of light/medium duty cabover trucks. They gained popularity in urban areas because of their shorter wheelbase and greater maneuverability. General Motors, having a controlling share of Isuzu, produces its own models of the N-Series and distributes them under its Chevrolet and GMC brands (after-Chevrolet Model T, Chevrolet M / R / X, Chevrolet Series LM / LO / LP (1927), Chevrolet Series LM / LO / LP (1928), Chevrolet Series LQ / LR / LS (1929), Chevrolet Series LQ / LR / LS (1930), Chevrolet Series LT / M / N (1931), Chevrolet Series LT / M / N (1932), 1935-1937 Chevrolet Montpelier COE, Chevrolet Montpelier COE (1937-1939), Chevrolet COE (1939-1941), Chevrolet COE (1941-1947), Chevrolet Advance Design Loadmaster COE (1947-1953), Chevrolet Advance Design Loadmaster COE (1954), Chevrolet Task Force LCF-Series (1955-1957), Chevrolet Task Force LCF-Series (1958-1959), Chevrolet Tilt Cab (1960-1963), Chevrolet Tilt Cab (1964-1980), and Chevrolet Tiltmaster W4/W5).
The N-Series is divided into the NPR, NRR, and NQR models. The NPR is available with GM's 6.0 liter Vortec gas V8 engine, a rarity in this market. NPR and NQR models are also available in a crew cab configuration with seating for seven. The N-Series models are best described by their Gross Vehicle and Gross Combined Weight Ratings (GVWR and GCWR).
