The Isuzu H-Series are medium duty Class 6, 7, and 8 conventional trucks. H-Series are also sold by GM as the Chevrolet Kodiak and GMC Topkick medium duty trucks. The H-Series completes Isuzu's vast range of conventional and cab-over models.
The H-Series (after-Chevrolet Model T, Chevrolet M / R / X, Chevrolet Series LM / LO / LP (1927), Chevrolet Series LQ / LR / LS (1928), Chevrolet Series LQ / LR / LS (1929), Chevrolet Series LQ / LR / LS (1930), Chevrolet Series LT / M / N (1931), Chevrolet Series LT / M / N (1932), Chevrolet Series OA / OB / OC / OD (1933-1934), 1935-1937 Chevrolet Montpelier COE, Chevrolet Montpelier COE (1937-1939), Chevrolet COE (1939-1941), Chevrolet COE (1941-1946), Chevrolet Advance Design Loadmaster COE (1947-1953), Chevrolet Advance Design Loadmaster COE (1954), Chevrolet Task Force LCF-Series (1955-1957), Chevrolet Task Force LCF-Series (1958-1959), Chevrolet Series 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 LCF (1960-1961), Chevrolet Series 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 LCF (1962), Chevrolet Series 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 LCF (1963), Chevrolet Series 50 / 60 / 70 / 80 LCF (1964-1966), Chevrolet C-Series Medium-Duty (1967–1972), Chevrolet C-Series Medium-Duty (1973–1980), Chevrolet Conventional Medium-Duty (1981-1989), and Chevrolet Kodiak (1990-2002)) is highly adaptable, with GVWRs from 25,950 to 54,600 lbs. Both regular and crew cabs styles are available as are single and tandem rear axles. The H-Series uses Isuzu's 6HK1-TC Inline-6 Turbodiesel, shared with the F-Series. This engine meets stringent 2007 emissions restrictions, and is not available in the GM clones.
A range of manual and automatic transmissions are also available. The Allison 2000, 3000 and 3500 Series automatics range from 660 to 1100 lb-ft of gross torque. The Eaton-Fuller manuals range from 560 to 860 lb-ft gross torque, and from 6 to 10 speed.
