The Isuzu F-Series medium/heavy duty cab-over trucks are positioned higher in capacity than the N-Series models. The F-Series shares components with the N-Series, but offers a higher payload and Gross Vehicle ratings as well as the more powerful Isuzu 6H engine family. The Isuzu F-Series is marketed towards heavy delivery applications using stake and van bodies. The base model F-Series is the FTR, with a GCWR of 25,950 lbs and either a 170- or 212-in. wheelbase. The mid-payload FVR is available with weight ratings from 25,950- to 35,000-lbs. and a 212-in. wheelbase (140-in. on 35,000 GCWR models). The FXR heavy duty model features a 33,000 lb. GCWR and 250 hp engine on single rear axle models, and a 56,000 lb. GCWR and 275 hp engine on tandem rear axle models.
