Passive safetyEdit

Electronics are used to prevent the brakes from locking when they are harshly applied (known as ABS) and to control the car’s traction with the aid of an electronic stability package (ESP) if road surfaces become unexpectedly twisty or slippery. These devices automatically control the safe progress of the car, virtually without the driver being aware.

Active safetyEdit

In the event of an accident, active safety systems instantly activate the front seat belt pre-tensioners fractionally ahead of the front, side and curtain air bags.
