The Hyundai Ioniq 6 (Korean: 현대 아이오닉 6) is a battery electric mid-size fastback sedan produced by Hyundai Motor Company under the electric car-focused Ioniq sub-brand.
Overview[]
The car was previewed by the Prophecy concept car which was showcased in March 2020. The official launch is scheduled for July 2022. It will be produced at the Asan plant in South Korea, which also produces the Sonata and Grandeur.
The teaser image was first released on June 21, 2022. The concept sketch of the car represented the "Electrified Streamliner" design approach. Claimed to be Hyundai's new electric vehicle design type, it is identified by a soft streamlined design that minimizes wind resistance. Based on the E-GMP platform, a long wheelbase was applied compared to the overall height.
The entire design of the Hyundai IONIQ 6 was unveiled on June 29, 2022. Parametric pixel lights and hoods are applied to the front. In addition, Hyundai's new emblem, which was manufactured in the form of a thin plane made of aluminum, was first applied. The side part was applied with a streamlined window line, a built-in flush door handle, and a digital side mirror. The rear part was applied by combining the rear spoiler with parametric pixel auxiliary braking light. The interior design has a cocoon-inspired interior and an extended interior space with a long wheelbase. The vehicle function operation unit was designed to be centralized and the storage space was expanded by applying a bridge-type center console. In addition, eco-friendly materials were applied to interior and exterior painting, sheets, dashboards, and headliners.
