The Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor (also known as CVPI or P71) is the law enforcement version of the Ford Crown Victoria. It was used as the law enforcement vehicle in United States and Canada from 1996 until 2011. 1996 was the year that Chevrolet retired its Caprice, and so the Crown Victoria became "the Ford car." It was the most durable vehicle around that Ford had, and it had plenty of room for 5 passengers, as well as over 20 cubic feet in the trunk.
