The Fiat 500X is a crossover sport utility vehicle (SUV) manufactured and marketed by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles since 2014.
The 500X was unveiled in Paris Motor Show on October 2, 2014. It is Fiat's second four-door hatchback since the 500L was introduced for the 2014 model year. The car is produced at the SATA plant of Melfi, Italy, alongside the Jeep Renegade.
Specifications[]
The 500X is based on the Small Wide 4×4 architecture, a platform evolved from the GM Fiat Small platform used for the Fiat Grande Punto and Fiat 500L.The Fiat 500X is available with several engines that drive the front wheels by standard, while all-wheel-drive is an option with most engines. At launch, the following engines were available outside of North America: one petrol, the turbocharged 1.4 MultiAir2, and two MultiJet turbodiesels displacing 1.6 and 2.0 litres.
In North America, the Fiat 500X features the following two engines:<
- A 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission available only with front-wheel-drive.
- A normally-aspirated 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a 9-speed automatic with standard front-wheel-drive and optional with all-wheel-drive.
In detail, the following engines and powertrain combinations are available worldwide:

Trim levels[]
In the US, the Fiat 500X comes in Pop, Easy, Lounge, Trekking, and Trekking Plus trim levels — with optional all-wheel-drive on all but Pop trim level. In Europe it comes in Pop, Pop Star, Lounge, Cross and Cross Plus trims, with the all-wheel-drive available only on the 2.0L Multijet diesel-powered version.
Emissions compliance[]
Prompted by the Volkswagen emissions scandal, the French government commissioned a test which in 2016 found many cars not complying with the intention of the emission laws. The 500X was measured to have a NOxemission level of 1.35 g/km, 17 times the Euro 6 limit of 80 mg/km.
