Farus was a Brazilian automobile brand created by Indústria de Veículos Esportivos Ltda, which was later renamed TECVAN (Tecnologia de Vanguarda Ltda). The company, located in the southern Brazilian city of Belo Horizonte, was founded in 1979. The brand name is an amalgamation of FAmilia RUSso[1], in reference to its founders Alfio Russo and his son Giuseppe.
It focused its production on sports models, usually powered by Fiat, Chevrolet and Volkswagen.
The company closed its activities in 1990, due to the opening of the national market to imported vehicles.
