The Chevrolet Cosworth Vega is a subcompact four-passenger automobile produced by the Chevrolet division of General Motors for the 1975 and 1976 model years. A limited-production high performance version of the Vega, it was intended to stimulate excitement for the entire Vega line.
Chevrolet developed the car's all-aluminum inline-four, twin-cam 122 cu in engine, with cylinder head design assisted by British Cosworth Engineering. 5,000 engines were hand-built at GM's Tonawanda engine plant, each signed by the builder, but only 3,508 cars were made. The Cosworth Vega was priced $900 below the 1975 Chevrolet Corvette.[1]
