The Chevrolet Captiva is a sport utility vehicle (SUV) that was developed by the South Korean manufacturer Daewoo, and has been sold by Chevrolet since 2006. It is a crossover and straddles the compact and mid-size SUV segments . It utilises the GM Theta platform and derives from the Chevrolet S3X concept car revealed in 2004. The Theta platform also underpins the Opel Antara, the Captiva's mechanical derivative also built by Daewoo. Sold internationally as the "Chevrolet Captiva", South Korean-market cars were badged Daewoo Winstorm up until 2011, when the international name was adopted. Australasian-specification models are badged Holden Captiva.

- For 2011, the Chevrolet Captiva gets a fresh face and new engines. [1]
- December of 2007 sees Chevrolet of Europe debuted the Chevrolet Captiva Sport. The new trim will see the CUV sport new 18 inch wheels, body color trunk lid, dark headlights and smoked rearlights, new exhaust tips, Chaos Black bumper and side moldings and Light Silver finishes on several details and a new front fascia. Inside, the cabin will wear red and black leather upholstery with red stitching and black carbon accents. The engine bay will be fitted with either a common-rail 150 HP 2.0L turbo diesel engine or the 227 HP 3.2-liter V6 engine. [2]

In the Indian auto market, Chevrolet Captiva is available in 2.0 L, 1991 cc diesel engine with both Automatic and Manual Transmission Gearbox. Chevrolet Captiva comes in diesel engine only with three model - Chevrolet LT, Chevrolet Captiva LTZ & Chevrolet Captiva Xtreme. Chevrolet Captiva LTZ is the only model that comes with 5 Speed Automatic Transmission Gearbox, whereas Chevrolet Captiva LT & Xtreme is available in 5 Speed Manual Transmission Gearbox.
The highly powered engine of Chevrolet Captiva is packed with Variable geometry turbo Common Rail Direct Injection (VCDi) fuel supply system with SOHC valve configuration. The electronically controlled turbocharger of the car's engine helps to keep the revs perfect at any speed. The In Line type diesel engine is powered with 4 modern cylinders and 16 Valves produces a Stunning power of 150 PS at 4000 rpm and a Maximum torque of 320Nm at 2000 rpm and gives the most efficient fuel economy. The 2009 Captiva in Indonesia has a change of interior color.Because many people like beige color interior,GM Indonesia start to replaced the black interior color into beige.Some trims are also available with wood trims , as they give a more exclusive feelings.
Design quirks and oddities[]
After the great success of selling Chevrolet Blazer in Indonesia,GM Indonesia's popularity became big.Later,as the new Blazer weren't sattisfying,Chevrolet's sales become bad in Indonesia.However,since the arrival of the Captiva,GM Indonesia's selling is helped by Captiva, Captiva also made Chevrolet brand popular again.GM Indonesia said that Captiva is the modern Blazer.
