2005 Buick Terraza

The Buick Terraza is a minivan from General Motors' Buick brand that was introduced in 2005. It fills the position of GM's luxury minivan that was previously filled by the Oldsmobile Silhouette (1990-2004). The Terraza is built alongside its Chevrolet, Pontiac, and Saturn sisters (Chevrolet Uplander, Pontiac Montana, and Saturn Relay) in Doraville, Georgia.

2005-2007[]

Terraza 2007

The Terraza used a 3.5 L High Value 3500 LX9 V6 that generates 200 hp (149 kW) and 220 ft·lbf (298 N·m) torque, going from 0-60 mph in 10.2 seconds. For 2007, the 3.5 L V6 was dropped, leaving the 3.9 L as the base engine. Consequently, the optional AWD system was also dropped, since it could not handle the torque of the 3.9 L engine. A flex-fuel version of the 3.9 L V6 also became available for 2007. The Terraza scored three "Good"s (the highest possible score) and two "acceptable"s (the second highest possible score) in IIHS crash tests. With regards to gas mileage, the Terraza is rated at 19 mpg city, 25 mpg highway.

The Terraza is the most luxurious of the GM minivans, starting at US$27,790, ahead of the Saturn Relay. The Terraza comes in two trim levels, CX and the CXL. The Terraza is not Buick's first minivan. The Buick GL8 was first released in 2000, sold only in China.

The Terraza has been discontinued after the 2007 model year[1], and GM's Doraville plant has been scheduled for closure in 2008. Because of low sales of minivans, GM has decided to exit the minivan business in North America. The Terraza (alongside the related Rendezvous crossover SUV and the truck-based Rainier SUV) have all been replaced by the Buick Enclave for 2008.
