The Buick Enclave (and similar GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook) is a full-size crossover SUV to be launched for the 2008 model year by the Buick division of General Motors. The three vehicles will share the new GM Lambda platform. The Enclave was previewed at the 2006 North American International Auto Show, officially as a concept car, making it the first Lambda vehicle to be displayed.
The Enclave will replace both of Buick's current SUVs, the minivan-based Rendezvous, the truck-based Rainier, as well as the Terraza minivan. It will feature seating for at least six, and up to eight with a third row with a foot well, generous interior space, and either front- or all-wheel drive.
Press reports indicate that the Lambda SUVs will feature available 3-row 8-passenger seating and V6 engines. A V8 engine will also reportedly be offered on the GMC and Buick versions but is unlikely in the Saturn. The Lambda vehicles will be built at GM's new Delta Township Assembly plant near Lansing, Michigan.

Reliability[]
- RECALL ALERT: On August 29, 2008, GM issued a GM-wide recall affecting 857,735 vehicles built between 2006-2008 and equipped with heated windshield washer fluid option including the 2008 Buick Enclave. The system was liable to short out causing cessation of function, smoke, possible fire and malfunctioning of other electronic systems in the car. GM urges owners of affected vehicles to go to their nearest local dealer so the problem can be remedied.[2]
- RECALL ALERT: On March 13, 2009, GM issued a recall alert affecting 276, 729 cars, namely all Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Cobalt, Chevrolet HHR, Chevrolet Malibu, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia, Pontiac G5, Pontiac G6, Saturn Aura and Saturn Outlook built for the 2009 model year, due to a loose clip on their transmission shift cable. The failure of the clip to be locked into place may prevent the transmission from moving into Park. This recall is filed under the NHTSA Campaign ID Number 09V073000. [3]
