Some thoughts

Now that it has been around a month since wikia imported the pages from wikicars, it's time to look ahead.

Now we had tremendous growth in the past month, the article count leaping from 4,500 to 8,000 articles. But, there is still a lot of work left to be done, the 4,000 missing images from wikicars, the missing templates from wikicars, and the backlog of missed car updates. My question is, who is going to do all this? Red marquis, and Coolow are inactive, and I don't have the time to do that amount of work. I'll be able to help fill in some of the missing templates, and add a few new cars unveiled at the auto shows, but not much more than that.

Something else that will be needed to be looked at is categories, they are a total mess, with both Category:xxx vehicles and category:xxx Vehicles, and many other duplicate categories. These will have to be cleaned through over time.

Looking on the positive side, we have - as mentioned above - grown tremendously in the past month. Lots of articles on older car models, formula one, NASCAR, and various other articles that were desperately needed have been created.

We could also do with more users around here, the community of 5/6 people of the ShoutWiki days is gone, it'll hopefully be rebuilt over time, and hopefully some of the old users will return

The final thing to get at is affiliates. There are a few other car-related wikis out there that might be worth affiliating with. A few of which are Stock Car Racing and Motorcycle, and Tractors wikis here on Wikia. Another is the independently-hosted Kustomrama Wiki.--Hockeyben ^✉ 01:55, October 6, 2011 (UTC)
