The Artega Karo-Isetta is an all-electric microcar made since 2020 by Artega. It was released in 2021 in Germany and is expected to go on sale around the world by 2023.

Overview[]

The Artega Karo-Isetta draws inspiration from the Peel P50 and is in critical similarity with the Mircolino. The front-opening door, sliding side windows, leather sunroof and bench seat are remarkably similar to the Microlino’s, but the wheels and finishing touches give the whole thing more of a retro vibe. Artega also says the chassis is made from steel and that the Karo-Isetta is manufactured completely climate-neutrally in its Delbrück factory.

Licensing Issues[]

The Artega Karo was originally supposed to be unveiled in 2019 as a concept car named “Artega Karolino”, but was postponed due to a legal dispute which resulted in a ban on advertising which expired in 2019. In 2020, the official concept car, now entitled as the Karo, was revealed, and planned for production, but it again never went into production that year due to licensing issues.

The Karo was finally marketed in 2021, but with the name again being changed to Artega Karo-Isetta.
